Private transfers, fixed price

A transfer is a car and a driver, booked for your group only, at a price we agree before you travel. The figures in the table are per vehicle and include tolls, so four people pay the same as two. A sedan takes one to three passengers with normal luggage; a minivan takes four to six. Larger groups, other cities and night or pre-dawn pickups are quoted on request — tell us the route and we will send a figure the same day.

For airport arrivals we track the flight, so a delay changes nothing and there is nothing for you to re-arrange from the plane. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name, helps with the bags and takes you to the door of your riad. If your hotel is deep inside the medina where cars cannot go, the driver walks you in to the nearest gate and a porter can be arranged for luggage.

The long routes are drives, not tours, but they do not have to be joyless. Fez to Chefchaouen climbs through the Rif and takes about three and a half hours; Fez to Merzouga is a full day across the Middle Atlas, the cedar forest at Ifrane and the Ziz Valley. On any of them you can stop for coffee, lunch or photographs — just tell the driver. If you are heading for the desert, it is usually better value to take our Sahara circuit instead of a one-way transfer, since the price is similar and the stops are built in.

Every vehicle is air-conditioned and non-smoking, with bottled water on board. Child seats are available on request if you tell us the ages when you book. Drivers speak enough English or French for the practical parts of the day; they are drivers rather than licensed guides, so if you want commentary along the way, add a guide and we will quote that separately.
